SiDonald is a London-based talent agency and production company specialising in film, television, theatre, commercials and voice-over work.
They partnered with us at Backed by Humans to build a fully connected platform that underpins everything from talent discovery and onboarding to decision-making and ongoing management.
Instead of relying on disconnected off-the-shelf tools, as many legacy agencies still do, SiDonald’s entire platform is now built around a single database, with tailored workflows designed specifically around the needs of its operation.
What Backed by Humans built for SiDonald
1. Dynamic marketing website
A streamlined marketing website and searchable talent directory designed to better showcase SiDonald’s talent and services.
Profiles are automatically updated using connected industry sources, helping ensure clients always have access to accurate and up-to-date information through one consistent and easy-to-browse platform.
2. From enquiry to decision: an automated workflow
SiDonald introduced a streamlined system for managing new talent enquiries, creating a faster and more organised review and onboarding process.
New talent enquiries are captured via a custom form and fed directly into the platform. Submissions are then organised into a simple review workflow, allowing agents to assess potential new clients with all the relevant information in one place.
Agents remain fully in control of representation decisions, while the platform handles the related administration and follow-up afterwards.
Agents can now review candidates in a “kanban-style” board with three choices that lead to automated outcomes:
- Yes: triggers meeting scheduling
- Yes following an agent meeting: triggers the contract and sign-up process
- No: sends a polite rejection automatically to the prospect
- Maybe: holds for later review
These features help ensure enquiries are handled quickly, consistently and professionally.
3. From initial enquiry to contract signing: a fully connected flow
Once an initial meeting takes place, Talent Agents record the outcome directly in the system. If successful, contracts are sent automatically via an online form, completed by the talent prospect, and stored back into their main database.
There is no longer any need to create contract PDFs manually, chase lost attachments in busy inboxes, duplicate tasks or track progress by hand.
4. “Sid”: the core platform
Sid is the central platform powering the SiDonald agency. It provides a single place to manage talent, opportunities, and operations.
- Talent profiles are all managed within one system
- Talent can log in and update their own data and profiles
- Opportunities are tracked from enquiry through to booking and payment
- Billing and financial tracking are securely built in
This replaces multiple third-party tools with one in-house, coherent system tailored to the agency’s needs.
